Pony Effect That Girl Luminous Contouring Palette Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a lovely day whatever day you happen to be reading this on.
Today I want to talk about a bronzer and highlighter palette I recently got. It’s the That Girl palette by the Korean makeup artist Pony. I adore her makeup looks, and was so excited to see her come out with the Pony Effect line. I haven’t bought much in the way of bronzes or highlighter. I’m a creature of habit so I always bought the same thing over and over. Haha Also, this will be the first matte bronzer I’ve owned! So, lets get into thought and then pictures of this product!

At first I wasn’t sure if the bronzers in this palette would be dark enough to show up on my skin. Pony seems to have such fair skin, while I prefer to be more tan. Coming out of winter, I think it worked well with my skin tone. After getting more tan I’ve had to build it up much more for it to match . I am using it on top of a BB cream that is a tad light for my tanner skin. So as a bronzer it is having to work a little harder than normal.
Both bronzers are matte with a more yellow undertone. They have good pigmentation. I like Divine Work as an allover bronzer, and then Behind Story for conturing. The bronzer powder itself goes on smoothly and feels light on the skin. I’ve layered it on quite a bit, and it’s never felt cakey. I’ve even applied it with a BB cushion puff, and it still didn’t feel cakey.

I feel the highlighters had nice warm tones. Both are lovely in color. Muse Maker has a nice golden undertone with a fine shimmers to it. Angel Skin has a pink undertone, with fine, and slightly larger shimmers.
I found them both hard to apply with a brush. I just couldn’t get a very much product onto the brush. I think it’s because the powder it’s packed together quite firmly. If you like a thin layer of shimmer than that may not bother you. It probably works well with BB creams give you a dewy finish. If you like highlighters that are easily seen like with more American style makeup looks, then it might not be as easy to get the level of shine that you want. However if you use a puff or even a makeup sponge to swipe it one, you can make it work.

Overall I still like this pallet. It wouldn’t go on my “can’t live without” list, but it’s a decent bronzer/highlighter pallet. Also I think it would work well for a traveling considering the sleek and sturdy packaging.
I don’t regret my purchase at all. I would purchase it again. It just take more effort to use in the summer. This product might have more use in the winter if you are tanner like me.

Rating 3/5
